China had 2 major rivers. They were called the Huang he and Chang Jiang rivers. Huang he river was also known as the Yellow river. Chang Jiang river was founded on the central China and Huang He river was founded on the northern China. People had agriculture near there and there was a lot of fertile soil near these rivers. Also, the climate in China had different climates like in the U.S. In China, there were different climates. For example, in the Western part of China, there was very dry climate and in the Southeast part of China, there were mild winters.

Isolation of China
China had a lot of barriers to prevent them from invaders. China had mountain ranges, deserts, and oceans. Some mountain ranges were the Pamir, the Tian Shan, and the Himalaya mountain ranges. They protected the western border of China. China also had fewer outside influences. There was also an achievement that protected China from invaders. It was called the Great Wall of China. This great wall was built by Shi Huangdi.

Civilization in China
The Chinese civilization is the oldest civilization still in existence today, and extends back through history in an unbroken chain over nearly four thousand years. Throughout these thousands of years of history, the Chinese people have been instrumental in developing technologies and advancing the knowledge of mankind.
The Chinese have been ruled by a succession of dynasties. A dynasty is a family that passes the right to rule the nation from one generation to the next.
